You're Invited
Hi everyone!
Your wonderfully creative children have been working on Bio Poems for the last week and a half, and they have come up with some amazing ideas on how they want to put together their final product.
The assignment was laid out with a structured set of questions to answer about themselves, and they were then given a variety of ideas on how they wanted to present their poem with pictures included. I have to say, I am absolutely blown away with the wide range of ideas that they have come up with to display their poems.
I would love to invite you to come by the school this Tuesday April 26th either before school (8:30am) or after school (between 3:00-4:00pm), to see everyone’s final product of their poems, as we will be showcasing them in our classroom.
I look forward to seeing you! Have a wonderful weekend.

Walking Field Trip to Sutherland
This Friday we will be heading to Sutherland from recess until 3pm. This is part of an ongoing effort to increase the degree of comfort the Grade Sevens have with the transition to highschool. The sixes will benefit from this as well as they will have the opportunity to adjust over both this year and next. Students will be eating lunch at Sutherland and should be prepared to walk both ways regardless of weather. If you have any questions regarding this please feel free to let me know:)

FEAT Canada Kids
Happy Friday to everyone! Hope you're out enjoying the sun:) Just wanted to give parents a heads up that on Tuesday April 12th we'll be attending the FEAT Canada Kids presentation at Centennial Theatre. As it is a walking field trip we won't be sending home permission forms to be signed but wanted to make you aware of details in case you've got appointments scheduled for your child etc. We'll be leaving the school at around 9:30am and returning at about 2pm. Students will be bringing lunches with them and eating there. Please mark it on your calendar and make sure your child dresses appropriately as we'll be walking both ways.
Please feel free to check out the link below for the details on this AMAZING presentation!

Introducing...
Hi there!
My name is Tobi Watt, and I am a Teacher Candidate from UBC doing my long-term practicum in your child’s Grade 6/7 class. I feel very fortunate to be working alongside your absolutely wonderful children, and I can’t wait to spend the next nine weeks with them! I have already learned so much about each and every one of them, and I’m excited to see what we will all accomplish together.
We have recently started our Poetry Unit, which is one of the units I will be teaching with the students. As the weeks progress, I will be taking on more of the work load in the classroom and becoming involved in all subject areas.
I hope I get the chance to meet all of you. If you have any questions or you would like to meet please feel free to email me anytime, or you are welcome to drop in before or after school. ☺
Thanks!
